Bilibili clocks 29% MAU growth in Q2 2022

Bilibili is currently the largest Z generation pop culture and entertainment community in China. It offers a platform that covers a wide array of genres and media formats, including videos, mobile games, and comics.


Bilibili Inc. recently announced its unaudited financial results for Q2 ended June 30, 2022. Data shows that Bilibili's total net revenue for Q2 was RMB 4.91 billion, an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year.



Particularly, mobile games generated RMB 1.5 billion in Q2; earnings from self-developed games account for 5% of total revenue. Net revenue from value-added services was RMB 2.1 billion, an increase of 29% year-over-year. Bilibili's Q2 revenue from advertising has recorded a 10% growth to RMB 1.1 billion. A significant component of its overall advertising revenue comes from gaming, 3C digital, beauty and skin care, e-commerce, and food.


Bilibili's average MAUs for Q2 2022 rapidly increased 29% year-over-year to 306 million. A total of 27.5 million MPUs were also recorded, a 32% increase compared to Q2 2021. As of 2022, the daily average time spent was 89 minutes, a 9-minute increase in the same period last year.


The company has applied to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange regarding its proposed conversion to the primary listing. The effective date of the Proposed Conversion is expected to be October 3, 2022. Upon the Effective Date, the Company will become dual primary listed on The Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange in Hong Kong and the Nasdaq Global Select Market in the U.S.



Bilibili's revenue outlook for 2022 Q3 is expected to reach ¥5.6 billion to ¥5.8 billion in its financial results.
